Bump Bird — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 August 2026
The short version. You can play the whole game without giving us anything. A name is only asked for after a run has ended, and only so your score can appear on the leaderboard. You can ignore it and keep playing, and you can delete everything from inside the app at any time.
What we collect
A name you choose — only if you choose one. After a game ends you can enter a name to put your score on the public leaderboard. It does not have to be your real name, and we would rather it was not. If you never enter one, we never receive one.
Your scores. Once you have a name, the score from each run is sent to our server so the leaderboard can be worked out.
An app identifier. The first time you open the app it generates a random identifier and stores it on your device. It does one thing: it lets us recognise that the person coming back with a given name is the same person who chose it, so nobody can take your name and your best score stays yours.
This is not the Android advertising ID. The app does not request it, and nothing here is used for advertising, tracking or profiling.
What we do not collect
- No email address, phone number or real name
- No contacts, photos, files, microphone or camera
- No location of any kind
- No advertising or tracking identifiers
- No analytics and no third-party SDKs
The app asks for one Android permission: INTERNET, to reach the
leaderboard.
Where it goes
Data travels over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) to our own servers, hosted on Amazon Web Services. AWS stores it on our behalf and does not use it for anything else.
We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or pass it to any third party for their own purposes.
What is public
If you choose a name, that name and your best score are shown on the leaderboard to everyone who plays. Nothing else about you is shown. Please do not use a name you would mind strangers seeing.
Names are checked automatically and offensive ones are refused.
How long we keep it
Your name and scores are kept while the leaderboard exists, so that a returning player keeps their place. Your scores are also stored on your own device.
Deleting your data
You can delete everything from inside the app. After a game ends, tap Delete my data on the game over screen. That removes your name and every score from the leaderboard, and clears this game's data from your phone. It cannot be undone, and you can carry on playing afterwards.
If you would rather we did it for you, email tiennguyensong@gmail.com with the name you play under and we will remove it within 30 days.
Uninstalling the app removes the copy on your phone, but on its own it does not remove your name from the leaderboard — use the delete option first.
Children
Bump Bird is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. If you believe a child has entered a name, email us at the address above and we will remove it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Anything significant will also be mentioned in the app's release notes.
